We're about to start a piece on making a commercial, but we're going to base it out of Keynote. So today we're going to have a bit of a "pretest" on Keynote to see how well each of you know how to use it. Your job today... 1. Choose a 'Top 5' list that you'd like to make a presentation on. It could be bands, movies, places to visit, etc. - anything you want. (Obviously the whole school appropriate thing applies). 2. Today we're going to apply our management process steps to a new project. Your Goal: To decorate our classroom with origami art. Your Resources: Lots of colored paper, the students in our classroom, tape, paperclips, string, computers, internet, two class periods, me to assist however you want me to Your Job Today 1. Get into your teams 2. Come up with a team name, but don't tell me what that name is. The team name should not make it obvious who you are. For example, neither Rachael or Genesis should suggest a team name with Justin Beiber's name or initials. Santi's team should not include swag or hashtags. 3. You are going to begin the Planning stage or management. Write me a proposal to decorate our room in some way with origami. Your proposal should include... a. A summary of your idea b. A list of the resources you would need (including colors of paper) and how those resources will be used c. Descriptions of what each person on your team will be responsible for d. Today we can begin focusing on your employees and what role they will have in your business. Your job today... 1. Pretend to pay attention while I ramble on for a little bit on the role of employees 2. On the back of your Employee Information Sheet, write a list of all of the things you can think of that would need to get done in a given day or week at your business. I mean EVERYTHING! 3. Next to each item, write down which employee would be responsible for that job. - Make sure no single person (including yourself) has too much work. 4. Combine the information that you wrote on the front of your sheet and the duties you've just written on the back of your sheet, and make a complete description of what your employee does. 5.
